On October 7th, the Afghan war officially entered its 17th year, persisting as amerika’s longest running overseas conflict. The Trump regime is attempting to win an impossible war against the will of the Afghan people, and has violently reasserted the role of the united $tates in Afghanistan. In response to the troop surge and recent […]
From this latest news story it is clear that the U.S. is conducting its covert regime change strategy in Syria. They are in the U.S. client state of Jordan training so-called moderate leaders handpicked to replace Assad. Syria has long been a target of Amerikan-led imperialism, being one of the few countries in the region […]
A recent article in the Washington Post by Craig Whitlock titled “U.S. Expands Secret Intelligence Operations in Africa,”(1) has generated interest among many different circles. It talks about the expansion of a spy and surveillance program that utilizes small aircraft for reconnaissance missions in different African countries. These are often operated by private mercenary companies. […]
Conclusion: Humanity vs CIA Terrorism In reviewing the history and scope of CIA terrorism, it may be tempting to fall back into a kind of persistent conspiratorialism, either rejecting outright the notion that such a group could be so lethal and influential or succumbing to paranoid helplessness in the face of what seems like insurmountable […]
The CIA Today: Drone Warfare, Destabilization and the New Scramble for Africa One of the CIA’s most well-known ongoing operation is the coordination of bombings by unmanned drones. These high-tech terrorist operations, sometimes coordinated directly with the US military, are carried out remotely from far away sites like the Pentagon, the public headquarters of the […]
CIA Terrorism, Dirty Wars and Destabilization in Latin America during the 1980’s One of the hallmarks of terrorism is the use of violence against civilians. The CIA network, to defend and extend the dominant order, has used violence against civilians in countries around the world. A notable example is the dirty wars carried out in […]
Attempts by the US to ‘rollback’ peoples’ democratic gains against capital did not end. After World War II the subsequent years became known as the Cold War, but could better be described as a Third World War: one waged by capital (through the CIA, conventional military means, propaganda, NSSs, etc) against Third World people and anyone perceived as a threat at the systemic level.
It is not hyperbole to describe the CIA network, which includes the interests it serves and those through which it operates, as the world’s most wide-spread, sophisticated and well-funded terrorist network today. Particularly, the CIA promotes violence and other tactics internationally as part of efforts to sway opinion in ways that enshrine policies favorable to the commercial interests of the United States and its allies. The CIA could be described as a US-centered terrorist group in service to capital.
Rather than advancing humanity with new achievements as they often claim, the United States and other governments are allocating hundreds of billions of dollars to develop real-life ‘Terminators.’ Except in this case, the immediate danger isn’t that such automated armed machines will go rogue and attack all of humanity, but rather they will be used […]
Beginning in February 2011, a tragedy befall Libya after the United Stated launched covert and overt operations to overthrow the ‘Jamahiriya’ government led by Muammar Gaddafi. Too often, it is easy to focus on the larger picture and ignore the individual human tragedy resulting from imperialist militarism. With this in mind, we present the testimony of Khaled K. El-Hamedi, whose family, including pregnant wife, were killed by a NATO bombing raid on June 20th, 2011.
“My name is Khaled K. El-Hamedi, I am Libyan and I run an international charity for children called the International Organization for Peace, Care and Relief (IOPCR). We have done work helping children affected by conflict including helping orphans in Bosnia and Gaza, Palestine, where I also helped with reconciliation efforts between Hamas and Fatah.
In early February 2011 my country witnessed what now clearly seems to be a Western organised attack on my country, starting with protests fuelled by comments such as those by British Foreign Minister William Hague when he said our leader – Muammar Gaddafi – had fled to Venezuela. Western media outlets and some Arab channels such as Al-Arabiya and Al-Jazeera helped to escalate the situation which then resulted in the NATO bombardment of my country since March 2011. I decided to stay in my country despite the devastation from the NATO campaign to help the civilians, especially the children, to cope with this war. Continue reading
In a recent exposé in the Nation magazine, Jeremy Scahill describes a dramatic increase in CIA activity in Somalia, including the opening of a new CIA facility in the capital city, Mogadishu:
“Set on the coast of the Indian Ocean, the facility looks like a small gated community, with more than a dozen buildings behind large protective walls and secured by guard towers at each of its four corners. Adjacent to the compound are eight large metal hangars, and the CIA has its own aircraft at the airport. The site, which airport officials and Somali intelligence sources say was completed four months ago, is guarded by Somali soldiers, but the Ameri[k]ans control access. At the facility, the CIA runs a counterterrorism training program for Somali intelligence agents and operatives aimed at building an indigenous strike force capable of snatch operations and targeted “combat” operations against members of Al Shabab, an Islamic militant group with close ties to Al Qaeda.”
In addition, the CIA has began using a secret prison in the basement of the Somalia National Security Agency headquarters, also in Mogadishu. The US directs covert operations, including drone strikes, from these facilities as part of what it describes as a ‘War on Terrorism’ . Continue reading
